Roger Waters And Le Trio Joubran Collaborate On Palestinian Poem Supremacy

Roger Waters has teamed with Le Trio Joubran to perform an excerpt on a piece called Supremacy by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.

Trio Joubran are Palestine based musicians Samir, Wissam & Adnan Joubran. The three brothers are from Nazareth. Their first album ‘Tamaas’ was released in 2002. In 2013 they were awarded the Order of Merit and Excellence by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

In a post at his Facebook page Waters writes, “Le Trio Joubran and I have collaborated to perform an excerpt from an epic poem by the great Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. On the surface it narrates the last speech of The Native American to The White Man, but it speaks also to Darwish’s beloved Palestine, and its indigenous people, in fact to all victims of settler colonialism everywhere, always”.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
