While Pink Floyd has managed to hit the top of the British Albums chart six times, only David Gilmour has matched that height, doing it twice with On An Island (2006) and Rattle That Lock (2015).

The other master architect of the band, Roger Waters, has not matched that feat with his 1992 album Amused to Death doing the best going to number 8.

That could change this Friday when the new Official Charts Company’s charts come out on Friday as Is This the Life We Really Want? is aiming for chart domination.

While the number 1 position is not assured, Waters is ahead at the mid-week point with All Time Low’s Last Young Renegade at number 2, just 2,000 units behind. The Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper drops 1 to 3 with Alt-J’s Relaxer at 4 and Ed Sheeran at 5.

U2’s revamped The Josuha Tree is at number 8 mid-week while Hank Martin, longtime guitarist for The Shadows is at 9 with Without a Word.

In the next ten at mid-week are the debuts of Kissworld: The Very Best of KISS at 13 and Home Counties by Saint Entienne at 14.

The charts will be out on Friday afternoon.
