The Chantoozies will mark their 30th anniversary with a performance at Melbourne’s newest venue The Satellite Lounge in Wheelers Hill in September.

The Chantoozies formed in 1986 and had their first hit song with their debut ‘Witch Queen of New Orleans’ in 1987 a cover of a 1972 Redbone song.

The second single, a cover of John Kongo’s ‘He’s Gonna Step On You Again’ was another for band.

Then in 1988, The Chantoozies released ‘Wanna Be Up’, an original song written by Brett Goldsmith and Eva van Bibra.

More hits followed with ‘Kiss n Tell’ and ‘Love The One You’re With’.

The Chantoozies only released two albums before splitting.

The band was asked to reform for the 2006 Countdown Spectacular tour and have been performing regularly ever since.

In 2014 The Chantoozies released their first single in 24 years, a cover of Promises’ ‘Baby Its You’ with an all-star video featuring Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana and Anthony LaPaglia.
