The Sonics will release their first album in 35 years, This is the Sonics, on March 31 via their own Revox label.

Formed in Tacoma, WA in 1960, the band never reached national prominence but their influence has been felt in punk, garage and hard rock over the decades.

Three of the original members remain in the group, Gerry Roslie, Larry Parypa and Rob Lind. They are joined by Freddie Dennis, ex-member of the Kingsmen, and Dusty Watson, who has played with Lita Ford, Dick Dale, the Queers and others.

The Sonics don’t stray far from their original primal sound on the first song released from the new album, Bad Betty.
