Ash returned to the Corner Hotel to play their breakthrough ‘1977’ album in its entirety.

The venue was now full of 30 something punters waiting to relive their musical youth with Ash performing ‘1977’, their once high rotation memory, live on the stage.

They were not disappointed. From the moment Ash stepped out on stage the audience where transformed back to 1996.

Ash performed the entire ‘1977’ album from start to finish with songs like ‘Kung Fu’, ‘Girl For Mars’ and ‘Goldfinger’ recalling that unique, raw time in music when it was all about guitar, bass and drums.

Tim Wheeler was still in his teens when Ash first toured Australia. He is now 36. Wheeler is now quite the showman and as the band’s ringmaster kept the entire crowd mesmerised and singing along to every word and listening to every note.

The band were flying out to Bangkok at 4.30am after the gig and will be returning to play more Australian shows in Perth, Adelaide and another in Melbourne.

Ash are touring Australia for Metropolis Touring.

Remaining dates are:

August 27, Perth, Rosemount Hotel
August 28, Adelaide, The Gov
August 29, Melbourne, Corner Hotel
