Cher Tweets About Her Sydney Mardi Gras Visit

by Paul Cashmere on December 30, 2017

in News

Cher has confirmed her appearance at Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in March tweeting “You know where I’ll be in March” with the hashtag #putsomeshrimponthebar.

Well a few things Cher, its Barbie (as in BBQ), not Bar and we don’t call them shrimp in Australia. Here they are called prawns. That whole “shrimp on the barbie” thing was an advertisement created for the American market so was translated from English into American so you would all understand.

News of the Cher Sydney visit slipped accidentally when it was broadcast (of all places) on the Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) iHeartRadio Christmas channel Elf Radio before Christmas.

Cher was last in Australia for her ‘Living Proof: The Farewell Tour’ in 2005.
