The complete recordings of Bob Seger’s early band The Last Heard have been compiled and reissued for the first time.

‘Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967’ gathers the original 45rpm records of Seger’s early career.

Bob Seger was in a series of bands before The Last Heard. In 1961 he fronted Detroit band The Decibels. Next came The Town Criers within the year and then Bob moved on to Doug Brown & The Omens.

The Last Heard was Bob Seger’s fourth band. Seger has started to get a name. He had released his first single ‘East Side Sound’ and scored a local Detroit hit, selling 50,000 copies of the single. Cameo-Parkway Records then signed and these recordings were created.

The track ‘Heavy Music’ was a minor hit in the USA, reached number 103 on the chart.

Bob Seger & The Last Heard – Heavy Music: The Complete Cameo Recordings 1966-1967 will be released on September 7, 2018.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
