The legendary New Orleans musician Mac Rebennack (aka Dr John) has given us some of the most authentic Rhythm & Blues over the past half a century.
Dr John is the archetypical ‘musician’s musician’. His fan base includes some of the world’s biggest names who he has influenced, such as Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Elvis Costello.
Dr John played piano on the Rolling Stones ’Let It Loose’. His biggest song ‘Right Place Wrong Time’ features contributed lines from Bob Dylan and Bette Midler.
Now in 2013 Dr John has paid homage to the great Louis Armstrong with ‘Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch’.
Dr John toured Australia in 2014 that included a visit to Deniliquin, New South Wales for the Deni Blues and Roots Festival.
