Chicago To Release 5CD of Historic Live Tracks

Chicago has always been known as a great live band but their live catalog is woefully small for a group that has been around for almost fifty years.

There’s an oft released bootleg of a partial performance from the early-70’s and a 1999 ten-song live compilation along with Chicago IV and the archival Live in ’75 but that’s it.

On April 6, fans will get two complete shows along with a selection of other live material on Chicago: VI Decades Live.

The five disc set (4-CDs and 1 DVD) includes two discs of their August 28, 1970 show at the Isle of Wight Festival in Britain and a DVD of their February 12, 1977 performance on the German TV show Rockpalast.

Two additional CDs compile performances from 1969 to 2014 including numerous lesser known songs from throughout their career like “Poem For the People”, “The Pull” and a medley of “In the Midnight Hour”, “Knock on Wood”, “I’m a Man” and “Get Away”.

Also in the package is a 24-page booklet with rare photos from the band’s archive.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
