“To all my dear fans,

Thank you for your huge out pouring of support. I would be lying if I said I am not disappointed with the outcome however I gave it my all and the rest was out of my hands.

I want to thank my son and all of the amazing people around me. I maybe down but I am definitely not out!! I can’t wait for you all to hear my new CD!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Enge”

Engelbert was the opening performer for the 2012 Eurovision contest, singing ‘Love Will Set You Free’.

Maybe he was jinxed from the start. No opening act has ever won the contest in its 57 years. EH even wore a good luck charm, a necklace given to him by Elvis Presley.

Sweden’s Loreen won the Eurovision Song Contest for 2012. Second place went to Russia’s dancing grannies Buranovskiye Babushki.
