So Frenchy So Chic will be held in Sydney for the first time this Saturday with an all-star French line-up including Lilly Wood & The Prick, Féfé, Babylon Circus as well as Edward Deer (Melodie Francaise).
So Frenchy So Chic played for the third time in Melbourne last Sunday with about 4000 people in attendance.
This event is unique. So Frenchy So Chic is a total culture package with French music, French food, French wine and French DJs playing French songs in between the sets.
The French Mafia DJs spun a playlist of songs including some rock and roll classics like ‘Lucille’ and ‘Paint It Black’ sung in French.
The atmosphere in the sun-drenched day at Werribee Park was the ideal day-out for families with kids equally entertained with face-painting and puppet shows and the adults able to play some croquet and pétanque.
If you are not into eating, drinking or sunshine come just for the music. The So Frenchy So Chic festival is totally to every other festival in Australia with a line-up of top class French acts that you will not see on any other festival.
The star of last Sunday’s event was certainly Féfé, the French rapper and hip-hop artist. Féfé won the audience before he reached the stage. In fact he entered from the back of the crowd through the audience and had them singing and chanting before he joined the band.
Féfé is also a member of the Saïan Supa Crew and he sang ‘Wavin’ Flag’, the French theme for the 2010 World Cup.
Lilly Wood & The Prick showcases how the French can also rock. Lilly Wood & The Prick is Nili Hadida and Benjaminum Cotto. Their most recent album ‘The Fight’ reached no. 12 on the French chart.
Babylon Circus have been around the longest of the three French acts. They formed in 2005 and have released seven albums.
So Frenchy So Chic will be held at St John’s College, Camperdown on Saturday, January 18.
