Geri Horner Is A New Mum

Geri Horner has given birth to a son.

The former Spice Girls star and husband Christian Horner announced the arrival of their first child together on Saturday morning (January 21).

“Christian and I are delighted to announce our baby boy was born this morning weighing 7lbs 8oz,” the 44-year-old shared on the social media site, alongside a baby and a thumbs up emoji.

The tot has been named Montague George Hector Horner with “George” being in tribute to her friend the late-George Michael.

“Geri wanted George to be a part of Monty’s life, so she felt it only fitting that her newborn have a middle name after the star,” a source told the paper.

Geri’s Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton, who shares the same birthday as the new arrival, congratulated the new parents soon after the announcement. “Amazing news, so happy! #birthdaytwins #birthdaymade love you all. Xxx,” Emma posted.

The remaining Spice Girls, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm, have yet to comment on the baby news.

Geri surprised fans when she announced in October she was expecting a baby. The Wannabe hitmaker is already a mum to 10-year-old daughter Bluebell, from her romance with film producer Sacha Gervasi, while her husband, Red Bull Formula One team boss Christian, has a three-year-old daughter, named Olivia, from a prior relationship.

Geri also revealed the sex of the baby with a cute pencil sketch of a pregnant woman, alongside a lyric from The Weather Girls’ hit, which she covered in 2001, It’s Raining Men. “God bless Mother Nature #MamaSpice,” she wrote.

The singer went public with her romance with Christian in March, 2014, and the couple became engaged later that year. They exchanged vows in Woburn, England in May, 2015, in front of family and friends, with daughter Bluebell serving as bridesmaid.

Shortly after Geri’s pregnancy announcement last year, Baby Spice Emma said she was “over the moon” for her friend.

“I’ve known for a while and I’ve had to keep it a secret, so it’s wonderful that it is out in the open,” she confessed. “I’m over the moon, she is going to be an amazing mum, for the second time.”
