Gotye Making Mirrors Goes Top 10 In USA

Melbourne, Australia singer songwriter Gotye has a Top 10 album in the USA.

Gotye’s ‘Making Mirrors’ album has gone to no. 9 on the Billboard chart this week with sales of around 24,000 in the past week.

The album also topped Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart ahead of albums by fun., The Black Keys, Say Anything and Lana Del Rey.

‘Making Mirrors’ as released in Australia in August, 2011 and was the biggest selling Australian album of 2011.

The single ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ has been a viral sensation and has now clocked up 123,522,674 YouTube views. Meantime, the Canadian cover by Walk Off The Earth has generated 77,327,101 views bringing the total for the song to more than 200 million views.

‘Making Mirrors’ has reached no. 1 in Australia and Poland, no. 3 in Belgium and Germany, no. 5 in Holland and Canada, no 5 in Scotland, no. 6 in Austria, no. 7 in Ireland and Denmark, no. 8 in New Zealand and 10 in Switzerland.
