Hypersonic Festival will return to Melbourne and Sydney in November with Armin Van Buuren, W&W, Showtek, Timmy Trumpet and Hybrid Minds among the announced headliners.

Hypersonic Festival has announced the first details of its 2026 edition, with Armin Van Buuren leading a multi-genre electronic music lineup across two Australian dates in November. The festival will take place at Melbourne Showground on Friday, November 20, followed by Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney on Saturday, November 21.
The announcement marks an expansion for Hypersonic following its debut, with organisers Symbiotic and Hardware moving the event to a two-city format for 2026. The festival will bring together artists from EDM, techno, drum and bass, dubstep, hardstyle, tech-house and dance music across multiple stages.
The announced artist lineup is led by Dutch electronic music artist Armin Van Buuren, alongside Dutch duo W&W and Showtek, Australian performer Timmy Trumpet and UK drum and bass duo Hybrid Minds. MC Stretch, known for his association with Tomorrowland and Stereosonic, will host the festival.
Hypersonic has several electronic music genres within one event rather than focusing on a single scene. Hypersonic is being presented as a multi-genre electronic festival, with the 2026 edition extending its footprint from one event to dates in both Melbourne and Sydney.
Armin Van Buuren is one of the most established names in the announced lineup, with a career spanning several decades and a catalogue strongly associated with trance and large-scale electronic festivals. W&W bring a mainstage EDM background, while Showtek have worked across EDM and electro-house during a career dating back to the early 2000s.
Timmy Trumpet represents the Australian contingent among the announced headliners, incorporating live trumpet into his electronic performances. Hybrid Minds bring a contrasting sound, with the British duo associated with melodic and liquid drum and bass.
The festival’s multi-genre structure also places the five announced acts within a wider electronic music programme spanning techno, dubstep, hardstyle, tech-house and dance music. The supplied announcement does not identify additional artists beyond Armin Van Buuren, W&W, Showtek, Timmy Trumpet and Hybrid Minds.
Hypersonic’s first edition established the event as a new Australian electronic music festival before the 2026 expansion. The move to Melbourne and Sydney represents a significant change in scale, giving audiences in both cities access to the event while retaining its focus on electronic music across multiple genres.
The 2026 dates also position Hypersonic within Australia’s busy spring and early summer festival period. Its presentation by Symbiotic and Hardware connects the event with two established names in Australia’s electronic music and live events sector.
MC Stretch will provide the festival’s presenting voice across the two dates. His previous association with Tomorrowland and Stereosonic gives him a background in large-scale electronic festival events.
