Extra dates in Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney confirmed as demand surges for the full-album celebration, with Suze DeMarchi and Michael Paynter joining as featured artists across the tour.

Icehouse have added three extra shows to their Man of Colours 40th anniversary tour after the first Melbourne date sold out, with tickets for the new performances on sale at teglive.com.au.
Icehouse formed around frontman and principal songwriter Iva Davies and built a substantial commercial record that includes 28 platinum album certifications, eight top 10 albums and more than 30 top 40 singles. Man of Colours, released on 21 September 1987, became the band’s fifth studio album and their biggest commercial success. It reached number one in both Australia and New Zealand, held the Australian summit for 11 consecutive weeks, has sold more than one million copies and collected ARIA Awards for Album of the Year and Highest Selling Album.
What sets this anniversary run apart is the setlist commitment. While many tracks from Man of Colours have long been concert staples, several have never been performed live. Audiences will hear the entire album played in sequence, an opportunity the band has described as likely to remain unique.
Suze DeMarchi of Baby Animals and Michael Paynter, whose credits include work with Jimmy Barnes and the stage productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and Whispering Jack, will appear as featured artists at every date. DeMarchi said: “I’m so excited to be joining ICEHOUSE for the ‘Man Of Colours 40th anniversary tour’. Iva’s music has been a big influence on us all and I’ve been a fan since the ‘Flowers’ days and played that cassette in my little green Toyota Corolla KE20 until it was chewed up and spat out!! I hope to see all of you out there for this very special album. Suze x”
Paynter added: “When I joined ICEHOUSE in 2011, my life and career changed immediately. Little did I know that 15 years later, they would have become my dear family. It is so incredible to be back on the stage with Iva and the gang. I can’t wait to lend my voice to some new surprises and just to be part of performing these great classics again. See you on the road!”
Opening acts for the full run will be announced early next year. The combination of a complete album performance, long-time collaborators sharing the stage and the commercial momentum already shown by the first Melbourne sell-out positions these dates as a focused celebration of one of the most successful Australian albums of the late 1980s.
