French soul singer Imany and her song ‘Don’t Be So Shy’ was the most Shazamed song in Australia last week.
Nadia Miadjao aka Imany released her first album in 2011 at age 32, a relatively old age for a pop star to penetrate. Nadia took her name Imany from the Swahili word for ‘faith’.
Imany was originally an athlete but also worked as a model in Europe before releasing her first album ‘Shape of a Broken Heart’ in 2011. In 2014 she created the soundtrack for the French movie ‘Sous les jupes des filles’ by Audrey Dana.
In 2015 ‘Don’t Be So Shy’ was a hit for Imany in France (no 2), Germany (no 1), Poland (no 1), Russia (no 1), Switzerland (no 4), Austria (no 8) and Italy (no 29).
