Irene Cara Australian Tour Cancelled

in Live,News

Irene Cara will no longer be coming to Australia for her first national tour.

The Flashdance/Fame star pulled out of her Australian tour citing travel issues with “some of the key members of her band”.

A statement from touring company Lennard Promotions says, “on advice from Irene’s US solicitor the tour’s promoter was advised that Irene is unable to proceed with the tour as some of the key members of her band are now unable to travel. With not enough time for Irene to arrange replacement musicians so she has no alternative than to cancel the tour for the time being. Irene Cara extends her sincere apologies to all her Australian fans and looks forward to rescheduling when the timing allows”.

Irene Cara, both a Grammy and Academy Award winner, was due to start her Australian tour in Melbourne on November 6.

Dates cancelled are:

November 6, Melbourne, Palms

November 8, Gold Coast, Twin Towns

November 9, Caloundra, The Events Centre

November 13, Revesby, Whitlam Theatre

November 14, Sydney, The Juniors

November 15, Sydney, Rooty Hill RSL

All tickets purchased can be returned at point of purchase for a full refund.

Beth Gibbons by Mary Boukouvalas
Rising Festival, Beth Gibbons, Hamer Hall 1st June 2025 #REVIEW

The blue-coloured- light drenched the stage, signifying the trademark colour of Rising. Beth Gibbons is here as part of Rising festival to showcase her solo album, Lives Outgrown, with a seven- piece band of musicians. Gibbons last toured Melbourne 15 years ago with proponents of trip hop, Portishead, appearing at Harvest Festival. There she was bathed in the golden afternoon rays of sunlight, but now she’s obscured by stage lights in alternating hues. Her musicians are backlit and positioned either side of the stage in groups of three and the keyboardist is in the centre behind Gibbons.
