Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have reportedly ‘started the divorce process’.

The couple are currently embroiled in what appears to be an increasingly ugly split, with the America’s Got Talent host admitting during an interview last month they have been living apart for months and, according to E! News, Mariah is ready to call it quits on their marriage.

“Mariah has started the divorce process,” a source told the outlet. “She’s getting all her ducks in a row.”

Apparently Mariah is incensed Nick decided to spill the beans on their personal troubles. It’s claimed the songstress is doing everything in her power to ensure she isn’t thrown off by what Nick might say or do in the future. “She won’t be caught off-guard again,” the insider detailed. “She was devastated when he spoke out about their issues. She’s started the proceedings to make sure the ball is in her court from now on.”

Mariah, 44, tied the knot with Nick, 33, in 2008 and they share three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe together.

Speculation is rife she is abandoning their former family home in New York City for a while in favor of finding her bearings elsewhere. “Mariah’s been looking at houses. She may want to spend time in Atlanta after the tour. She’s not too sure about anything right now, but she has been seeing houses,” the source shared. “She’s good though. She’s doing better than people think.”

It’s rumoured Nick doesn’t want to leave his wife at all and has suggested they visit a marriage counselor. He even professed his undying love for Mariah on Twitter Wednesday, tweeting to fans: “I love @MariahCarey and that will never change!”

“Nick’s been talking about giving things another try. He wants another chance,” the insider told E!
