Midweek Sales: Will Beyonce Be Frozen From Top Spot?

It’s looks as though the Top 5 might stay stable this week on the Australian Singles chart, with Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” likely to remain for a third week at No.1, whilst Jason DeRulo, Magic, John Legend and Rudimental with Emeli Sande and Nas could all be holding onto last week positions.

With London Grammar leaping up to No.11 this past week, their track “Strong” could jump up into the top six, whilst Tiesto and “Red Lights” (TW-29) could also leap up into the Top 10, with Joel Fletcher & Savage, Pitbull & Ke$ha and Ed Sheeran all potentially retaining their Top 10 status, although it’s also close for MKTO to enter with “God Only Knows”.

Last week Swedish artist Kim Cesarion looked likely to enter the Top 60 with his debut single “Undressed”, which didn’t occur; but this week his track could debut within the Top 15, whilst Beyonce’s “XO” (TW-18) could also be up that high this coming weekend. After falling down for the past couple of weeks, The Vamps and “Can We Dance” (TW-25) could rise back up into the Top 20, whilst the new James Blunt track “Heart to Heart” (TW-31) could either crack the twenty or just miss out.

“Let it Go” for Idina Menzel (TW-38) from the Disney film “Frozen” could leap up into the Top 30, whilst the Demi Lovato (TW-36) version could either drop a little or just hover around the same as this week, whilst further tracks from the soundtrack to chart include “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” (TW-66) which could leap into the Top 50, “For the First Time in Forever” (TW-86) could go Top 70 and a new entry could come from the films snowman played by Josh Gad on the song “In Summer” (Top 100).

If Miley Cyrus had charted last week with her new single “Adore You” it might have debuted within the Top 80, but this week though it could possibly enter within the Top 30, as too could the Shakira and Rihanna duet “Can’t Remember to Forget You” which was just released on Monday. Bliss N’ Eso cracked the Top 50 with “My Life” (TW-46), which could leap up into the Top 40 this week, as too could Will.i.am and Miley with “Feelin’ Myself” (TW-54). Lea Michele could return to the Top 50 with her new track “Louder” and new act Broods could also enter the fifty with “Bridges”, which is already a Top 40 hit in their native New Zealand.

Lower 50: Jason Herd and The Stafford Brothers featuring singer Sherry St. Germain could debut in the higher end of the Top 60 with their new dance track “Wicked Child”, whilst Nicky Romero and Krewella could enter this week with “Legacy” (Top 60). Beyonce and her duet with Jay-Z, “Drunk in Love” would’ve debuted within the top eighty last week if it had entered, this week if it’s eligible it might enter within the Top 70, whilst further entries could come from Ellie Goulding with “Goodness Gracious”, Max & Bianca with “Love Drunk” and another teaming from Kid Ink and Chris Brown with “Main Chick”.

ALBUMS:
We could be on a similar path to the US top two albums this week, as it’s a battle between reigning No.1 album “Beyonce” and the new No.1 film in the country, the Disney soundtrack to “Frozen” (TW-11), which could steal the No.1 crown from queen-B.

Retaining their Top 10 status this week should be Avicii, Lorde, London Grammar and Eminem whilst the other big film soundtrack at the moment, “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” (TW-34) could leap up into either the Top 10 or just outside of it.

The highest new album to enter could be the second studio album for US rapper and singer Kid Ink entitled “My Own Lane” which could debut either within the Top 20 or 30, and another album which could enter within the Top 40 is the third set for US duo twenty | one | pilots and their new release “Vessel”, whilst the only other new potential entry could come from Christian contemporary band Elevation Worship and their fourth album entitled “Only King Forever”.
