Pope Francis has debuted on America’s Billboard chart.

The Pope has a hit record on the World Music Chart with his ‘Wake Up! Music Albums With His Words and Prayers’ debuted at no 6 this week.

Pope Francis’ ‘Wake Up’ album features his speeches from the Vatican, Rio, Rome, Manila and South Korea put to music by various Italian artists and producers, including Don Giulio Neroni, Giorgio Kriegsch, Mite Balduzzi, Giuseppe Dati, Lorenzo Piscopo, orchestral director Dino Doni, and former member of Italian progressive rock band Le Orme, Tony Pagliuca.

We’ll through to the JB HiFi site to describe the album:

The Sweetness of his voice. Prayers of his word. Prayers and official speeches of His Holiness accompanied by new modern musical compositions inspired by the hymns of the Christian tradition.

An exceptional collection of 11 tracks, ranging from Gregorian to rock, from Latin to Contemporary with eclectic shades, containing antiphons and sacred hymns of the Christian musical tradition, reimagined by contemporary composers and some excerpts of Pope Francis’ speeches directly from Radio Vaticana Sound Archives
