Promoters Paul Dainty and Vivian Lees have created a new joint venture called Two Worlds Touring.
For more than 40 years Dainty has been one of Australia’s most successful promoters, touring Abba and the Rolling Stones in the 70s, every Australian Stones tour since and more recently Eminem, Bon Jovi, Beach Boys and George Michael. He has toured Paul McCartney, U2, David Bowie, Bette Midler, Guns N Roses, Neil Diamond, Iron Maiden, Stevie Wonder and Britney Spears.
Vivian Lees is a founder of the Big Day Out but in the past year split with partner Ken West to start a new company. The first tour for Vivian is Billy Bragg.
“I am really looking forward to working with Paul as he is someone I have held in high esteem for many years. He has a great work ethic and is a great dealmaker. As I see it, the idea of merging skills with him and building this venture with an open-ended outcome will lead to a very productive enterprise in the near term,” Lees said.
“Viv’s fantastic track record with contemporary live entertainment in this country speaks for itself,” Dainty added. “I have hoped the opportunity to work with Viv would arise at some point and so now we are very excited about Two Worlds Touring, which will allow us to jointly pursue some select acts of mutual interest while it will be business as usual for Dainty Group.”
Two World Touring will operate out of the Dainty office in Melbourne.
