Former Run-DMC member Darryl “DMC” McDaniels has released a new single, Attention Please! / Rock Steady, from his upcoming album Rock Solid.

Attention Please! features Pauley Perrette, one of the stars of the top-rated CBS drama NCIS. Produced by Mike 13, the song showcases DMC’s iconic powerhouse rap interspersed with Perrette’s smoky vocal hooks. The song tells viewers to “do something please” – an action packed explosion of Hip Hop and Rock positivity and passionate testament to the many nonprofit causes that both McDaniels and Perrette hold close to their hearts, including advocating for the rights of children in foster care and promoting adoption.

McDaniels and Perrette met last year and immediately bonded. “Working with Pauley P,” says McDaniels, “is like working with Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow with a splash of John Lennon!” Adds Perrette, “As a longtime fan of the legend DMC, it was outstanding to collaborate on such a hot song with such an amazing guy that I am now very proud to call a friend.”

The flip side of the single is Rock Solid – a high energy rock/rap track produced by Jared Lee Gosselin (India.Arie, Matt Sorum, Floetry, Macy Gray) who DMC calls “a Rock n’ Roll God with production and song arrangement skills out of this world!” The two met when they collaborated on a cover of Frank Zappa’s Willie the Pimp in honor of Zappa’s birthday last year.
