Simone Battle of G.R.L. has died at age 25.

Simone Battle of reality girl group GRL has died at the age of 25.

Battle was a finalist in X Factor USA in 2011. She had been pencilled in as a Pussy Cat girl after the original line-up dissolved and made it to press photo in 2012.

Robin Antin of Kemosabe Records has issued the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L.Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time”.

Kemosabe released the debut G.R.L. EP in July. In the lead-up to the release G.R.L. performed at SXSW in March opening for Zedd and Pitbull. They performed “Girls Are Always Right”, “Show Me What You Got”, “Vacation”, “Rewind”, and “Ugly Heart”.

‘Ugly Heart’ was then released as their single.

The cause of death is unknown at this stage. Her father Anthony Battle released the following statement, She will be greatly missed and loved. She was an exuberant person and a very loved person.’
