Spice Girls Working With Stones Lawyer On Reunion

The Spice Girls will reportedly work with the Rolling Stones’ manager to plan a 2017 reunion gig.

Rumours have been rife for months about a potential comeback for the girl group, who are marking the 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe this year.

Now it has been reported that after meeting up at Geri Horner’s London home last week, the girls have set a tentative date to perform in London’s Hyde Park next July.

According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Geri, Mel B and Emma Bunton confirmed details of the gig, and are now hoping they will be able to convince bandmates Victoria Beckham and Mel C to be part of the reunion.

The publication also reports that Joyce Smyth, who works as a manager and lawyer for the Rolling Stones, will be in charge of managing the girls as they plan the reunion.

Joyce was responsible for organising the Stones’ historic gig in Havana, Cuba, in March, so is well versed in planning a massive show.

PR expert Alan Edwards, who worked with the Spice Girls at the beginning of their career, is also thought to be returning to the group’s team for the 2017 reunion.

“Mel B, Emma and Geri agreed Hyde Park would be the ultimate way to launch a reunion next July for their 21st anniversary,” a source told The Sun.

“It gives them a year to plan everything and make sure their comeback is spectacular. It would be the most-talked about gig of the year.”

It was originally thought that the Spice Girls would mark the anniversary this year, but Mel B recently revealed that they couldn’t get the venue they wanted for the comeback. It is now thought she could have been referring to Hyde Park, which hosts concerts for some of the biggest names in the music business.
