U2 have played one of their smallest (but most captive) shows in decades. On Monday night U2 busked on the S train platform of Grand Central Station in New York.

U2 are in New York to promote their upcoming Innocence + Experience tour on the Jimmy Fallon Show this Friday and played the impromptu gig for surprised commuters making their way home for the day.

U2 performed three songs, ‘Beautiful Day’, ‘Angel of Harlem’ and ‘Song For Someone’.

The Innocence + Experience tour will kick off in Vancouver, Canada next week on Thursday May 14. The North America tour will conclude in New York on July 31. The European tour will commence on September 4 and take the band through to November for the final show in Paris on November 15.

No 2016 or Australian dates have been confirmed but when the tour was Innocence + Experience tour was announced last December visits to Asia, South America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Australia, and other territories would follow.
