Roger Glover says Deep Purple's songwriting process remains driven by instinct rather than formulas, with his long creative partnership with Ian Gillan continuing to shape the band's music as the group releases new material in the same era as fellow rock veterans Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones.

For more than five decades, the creative engine of Deep Purple has been driven by one of rock's longest-running songwriting partnerships. As the band prepares to release its 24th studio album, SPLAT!, bassist Roger Glover says the process of making new music still comes back to the unique chemistry he shares with vocalist Ian Gillan.

Deep Purple have released their twenty fourth studio album, Splat, arriving less than two years after =1 and reinforcing the band's commitment to making new music and continuing to tour rather than embracing retirement.

Released in 1976, Alice Cooper Goes To Hell marks its 50th anniversary as a pivotal album in the artist's career, arriving at a moment when Cooper was redefining himself as a solo performer after the breakup of the original Alice Cooper band. The album, his second solo release and ninth studio album overall, continued the narrative introduced on 1975's Welcome To My Nightmare, taking the character Steven deeper into a surreal underworld while expanding the theatrical scope that had become Cooper's trademark.

Deep Purple have unveiled ‘Guilt Trippin'', the third single from their forthcoming album ‘Splat!', with Ian Gillan revealing the track began with an improvised vocal performance before evolving into one of the record's most distinctive songs.

Forty years after its release, Rod Stewart's Every Beat Of My Heart remains one of the defining records of his mid-1980s period, producing major international hits including the title track and Love Touch while showcasing collaborations with some of the era's most successful songwriters and producers.

Deep Purple have released the second track from their forthcoming album Splat!, with Australian country rock star Keith Urban joining the band on guitar for the new single Diablo.
