James Arthur was in the country this past week on a promotional tour, and appeared and presented at this weeks ARIA Awards, which helps keep his song "Say You Won't Let Go" at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for a seventh straight week.

Retaining his No.1 position on the ARIA Singles Chart for a sixth straight week is James Arthur and his ballad "Say You Won't Let Go", which is now 2x▲Platinum in sales.

Australia has a new No.1 single this week, the first new chart-topper since mid-August, and the crown this week goes to James Arthur and his ballad "Say You Won't Let Go", matching its current peak in England (3rd week at the top this week over there).

Sydney five-piece indie rock band Sticky Fingers see their third studio album "Westway (The Glitter & The Slums)" debut at the top of the ARIA Albums Chart this week, their first such feat.

Logging a record ninth week at No.1 are The Chainsmokers and Halsey with "Closer", which becomes the longest run at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for 2016, and unless the next national No.1 stays for the final eleven weeks of the year there won't be any competition for the longevity crown.

The Chainsmokers and Halsey remain at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart for an eighth straight week with their track "Closer", becoming the equal longest running No.1 single for 2016 along with "7 Years" for Lukas Graham (TW-64, from February & March).

The current US and UK No.1 single is still holding onto the top of the ARIA Singles Chart this week (as Australia did so before the overseas charts), "Closer" for The Chainsmokers and Halsey, selling enough here to be newly classified 2x▲Platinum in sales.
