Melbourne singer-songwriter Georgina Ward and producer Danny Simcic to talk about Georgina’s brand new single Gravitational Pull — a song that brings together emotion, orchestration, and one very special guest.
Gravitational Pull is a striking new release that features Jeff Martin of The Tea Party on lead guitar, delivering a blistering solo that lifts the track into another dimension. Known for her blend of rock, soul, and pop, Georgina has been building a reputation for a voice described as both “earthy and angelic.”
Her music journey began with her debut single The River and her 2016 album Matters of the Heart, followed by international touring, including dates in Germany.
After a hiatus while recovering from cancer, Georgina returned in 2024 with Sun & the Moon 24. Now she’s back with Gravitational Pull, a song that showcases not just her vocal power but also her vision as a songwriter. The track features orchestration by Sean Brown, a dynamic Nigerian choir, and bass from Christopher Rourke, all tied together by Simcic’s masterful production.
Danny Simcic, best known as the drummer for Australian new wave legends Real Life, has been a long-time collaborator with Georgina. Together, they’ve created a single that is as cinematic as it is personal, exploring themes of love, energy, and the invisible forces that connect us.
In this exclusive interview, Georgina and Danny open up about the making of Gravitational Pull, the story behind Jeff Martin’s guitar solo, and where Georgina’s music is heading next.
