Jessica Mauboy’s ‘Hilda’ has been a long time coming, six years in fact.

‘Hilda’ (her middle name) marks the first time Jessica has been involved in the songwriting process for every song on the album. We started to hear what was in store with the first single ‘Sunday’ in April.

‘Little Things’ came in August.

Jessica has been more active on television and in movies in the past decade. She started in The Secret Daughter on the 7 Network of two seasons across 2016 and 2017 after honing her acting skills in the movies ‘Bran Nue Dae’ (2010) and ‘The Sapphires’ (2012).

In 2009 she opened for Beyonce on the Australian leg of the ‘I Am…” world tour.

Of the new album she says, “This record is a dedication to those women, to my grandmother and mother for being fierce and strong and how they have helped me to pursue this life and become a woman.”

‘Hilda’ is out 18 October, 2019.
