What was supposed to be George Jones’ final concert turned into a tribute last night at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville as a myriad of artists came together with Playin’ Possum: The Final No Show.

This wasn’t your normal country-based tribute. 112 artists were included during the night including such diverse names as Megadeth (who performed with Jamey Johnson), Kid Rock, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Sam Moore, George Strait, Tommy Shaw of Styx and Alan Jackson.

The 48-song evening was filled with Jones’ music with some of the biggest saved for the end of the night when George Strait took the stage to sing The Grand Tour and a duet with Martina McBride on Jones’ hit with Tammy Wynette, Golden Ring. Alan Jackson finished the night with what is considered one of the greatest country songs of all time, He Stopped Loving Her Today.
