Mi-Sex will return to Melbourne for a rare performance of hits in Peep Show.

Mi-Sex have played a handful of shows with Steve Balbi (Noiseworks) in recent years and has recently returned to the studio to record their first new music since ‘Where Do They Go’ from 1983.

Mi-Sex had a string of hits in Australia in the 80s but went into hiatus in 1986 with the intention of one day picking up where they left off. It wasn’t to do after singer Steve Gilpin was tragically killed in a road accident in November, 1991. Gilpin was left in a coma and died in January, 1992.

20 years later, the band reformed with Balbi on vocals.

The hits of Mi-Sex include ‘But You Don’t Care’, ‘Computer Games’, ‘People’, ‘Space Race’, ‘It Only Hurts When I’m Laughing’, ‘Falling In And Out’, ‘Castaway’, ‘Down The Line’ and ‘Blue Day’.

Sony Music have released The Essential Mi-Sex, featuring all of the hits.

Mi-Sex will play a rare Melbourne show at Ding Dong on Saturday, August 23.

Tickets are available from oztix or 03 9514 4599.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
