In 1985 American jazz fusion musician Pat Metheny collaborated with David Bowie for the mind-blowing theme to ‘The Falcon and the Snowman’, ‘This Is Not America’.
‘The Falcon and the Snowman’ was the 1985 spy drama based on the true story of spies Christopher Boyce, played by Timothy Dutton and Andrew Dailton Lee, played by Sean Penn. Boyce and Lee sold US security secrets to the Soviet Union.
For Australia, the movie outs a frightening true tale of the then US governments role in the sacking of Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam.
‘This Is Not America’ reached number 33 in Australia giving Metheny his one and only “pop” hit, a rare feat for a jazz musician.
Pat Metheny will tour Australia for Live Nation in March 2020.
