Thousands Flock To Keep Sydney Open

The Sydney music community came together today with one clear message … Keep Sydney Open.

The state of New South Wales is being run by tyrant premier Mike Baird who has cozied up to his wealthy casino owning friends to keep their businesses profitable at the expense of the Australian music industry.

Over 4000 people gathering to send Baird a very stern message, that his archaic lock-up laws are not working, he has strangled the live music industry in Sydney and that since Baird dictated his law to the people of Sydney, attendance’s at live music venues in the city have dropped by 40%

Rock legend Jimmy Barnes was outspoken about Baird’s buddy ruling.

“Since the lockout laws have come into place live attendance in down 40%. The lockout laws are not working,” Barnes said. “We’ve got to help keep music alive and keep Sydney alive. Let’s find a better way to do it”.

The Baird lockout laws were conveniently pushed through after a fatal attack in Sydney in 2014 but the attack happened in early evening and would have still happened had the law been in place at the time. The crime at that time was also unrelated to a live music venue.

Baird pushed the legislation through the NSW parliament as a convenient favour to some buddies, whose casino just happens to be in the area of the lock-out law but exempt from the law.

Today’s protest is the start of a continuous action to overturn Baird’s ridiculous one-man law.
