Local singer songwriter Dean Lewis holds for a third week at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with “Be Alright” thanks to a week of heavy promotion by him.

As I mentioned last week that exactly six years ago at this time of year Guy Sebastian’s track “Battle Scars” was logging its third (of six) week at the top, which was the last time an Australian Solo Male Artist held the top spot locally for more than one week. And after one week of occupying both the tops of the digital and streaming charts last week, this week his song is just the leader on the digital sales chart.

The new No.1 streamed track in this country is also the No.1 song in New Zealand (2nd wk), England and Ireland (1st week at the top), and here it holds for a second week at No.2, “Eastside” for Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid, while moving back up one spot to No.3 are recent tourists here 5 Seconds of Summer and their former No.1 song “Youngblood”, logging its seventeenth week within the Top 10 (equal eighth longest run ever within the Top 10), plus the song is now 4x▲Platinum in sales now too.

Maroon 5 with Cardi B and “Girls Like You” is also back up one spot to No.4, and logging its 13th week within the Top 10, becoming M5’s second longest running Top 10 single in Australia, their longest was also a No.2 peaking track in “Moves Like Jagger” in 2011 with Christina Aguilera, which stayed within the ten for 19 weeks. Those two rises are due to the Drake and his former No.1 track “In My Feelings” dropping down two spots this week to No.5, while it holds for seventh week at the top in America and Canada.

As Benny Blanco went to the top in England and Ireland it knocked off the long running No.1’s there in “Shotgun” for George Ezra, which this week here is up three spots to a new peak of No.6, dislodging the four week running No.6 peaking track “No Brainer” for DJ Khaled with Justin Bieber, which is down one spot to No.7. Three weeks ago Panic! At the Disco peaked at No.7 with “High Hopes”, which this week rebounds two places to rise back up to No.8, and returning to the Top 10 for a third week within the ten is Jonas Blue with “Rise”, up two spots to No.9 and now ▲Platinum in sales, while last weeks returning-to-the-ten track “God is a Woman” by Ariana Grande drops back down three places to No.10.
