Drake sees his track “God’s Plan” hold for an eighth straight week as the No.1 song on the ARIA Singles Chart.

The song is again at the top in New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, America (8th wk also) and England (9th wk), while I must make a correction to last weeks figures I presented, as “One Dance” actually spent seven weeks at the top in 2016 (I said it had logged six weeks), so now “God’s Plan” becomes his longest running No.1 in Australia, while it takes his tally of weeks at the top here to now fifteen weeks placing him outright seventh on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles, 2010’s’, one week shy of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ sixteen weeks from their four chart-toppers here.

Holding at No.2 for a fourth week is Post Malone with Ty Dolla $ign and “Psycho”, whilst Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” (the last song to spend eight weeks at No.1 too) remains at No.3 logging its 25th week within the Top 10 to become the longest running Top 10 single ever in Australia, beating the 24 weeks racked up “Fernando” by ABBA (1976), “November Rain” for Guns N’ Roses (1992/93) “Breathe” by The Prodigy (1996/97) and his own from last year and “Shape of You” (2017, TW-19), while Ed finished up his national tour in Brisbane this past week, performing “Perfect” as duet with his tour support act Missy Higgins.

The No.1 digital track this week rises one place to a national placing of No.4 in “These Days” for Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen, while it swaps places with “All the Stars” for Kendrick Lamar and SZA, down one to No.5. The Marshmello and Anne-Marie duet “Friends” rises two places to a new peak of No.6, while holding at their No.7 peak for a second week are Zedd and Grey with Maren Morris on their track “Friends”. Dua Lipa drops down two spots to No.8 with “IDGAF”, the track helping her album to score its first week within the Top 10 albums, while the song “Sad!” by rapper XXXTentacion jumps up thirteen spots to land at No.9, his first Top 10 placing here (helped by his album debuting at No.3 too), while down one spot to No.10 is “Meant to Be” for Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line which is newly certified ▲Platinum in sales.
