Bayker Blankenship will return to Australia in December for three headline dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane following his CMC Rocks QLD debut.

American country singer-songwriter Bayker Blankenship will return to Australia in December for his first headline tour, less than a year after making his Australian debut at CMC Rocks QLD. The 21-year-old Tennessee artist will perform at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on December 10, Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on December 12 and The Tivoli in Brisbane on December 13, with tickets going on sale August 21 following a Frontier Touring member presale.
Blankenship’s return follows a strong response to his first Australian performances at CMC Rocks QLD in 2026. His sets introduced Australian audiences to the singer’s roots-oriented songwriting and gravel-edged vocal style, with fans singing along to songs including ‘Maxed Out’, ‘Jailbreak’, ‘Sunday Supper’ and ‘Thinking of Me’.
The December shows will place Blankenship in a headline setting for the first time in Australia. The performances are also expected to include new material from the recording sessions for his first full-length album, which he is currently developing in the United States.
Blankenship said his first Australian visit made an immediate impression.
“Australia made a huge impression on me the first time around,” says Blankenship. “Australian people really love music. I feel so at home there, and I wanted to come back as soon as I could. Plus, they have really good coffee.”
Blankenship was born in Livingston, Tennessee, on June 8, 2005, and began learning guitar as a teenager. He has described discovering independent country music through a co-worker, with Tyler Childers among the artists who changed his understanding of what songwriting could accomplish.
He subsequently explored the work of artists including Bob Dylan, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr. and Mac Miller before beginning to post acoustic performances online. TikTok and YouTube provided the first significant audience for his music, with cover versions and original performances helping establish a following before he moved into professional recording.
His breakthrough came with ‘Maxed Out’, a song co-written with Trevor Daniels that addresses financial pressure and personal hardship. The track became a viral success and was later certified Platinum by the RIAA. Its performance online helped move Blankenship from local Tennessee performances into a national touring career.
His debut EP, Younger Years, was released in July 2024 and included ‘Where To Start’, ‘Lost Time’, ‘Maxed Out’, ‘Young Wild Free’, ‘Tennessee Sunset’ and ‘Back When We Were Kids’. The project established the core of a catalogue that has since expanded through singles and collaborations.
Blankenship has subsequently released music including ‘300 Miles’, ‘Jailbreak’ with Waylon Wyatt, ‘Sunday Supper’ with Wyatt, ‘Thinking Of Me’, ‘My Truck, Some Weed, And A Guitar’ and ‘Everything She Does’. He has also collaborated with Zach John King on ‘Life Behind Bars’.
His rise has taken place alongside a broader shift in country music, where independent artists can build substantial audiences through short-form video and streaming before establishing conventional touring careers. Blankenship’s trajectory has followed that pattern, moving from bar performances and social media uploads to national television and major live stages.
He has also toured or appeared alongside established and emerging country performers including Willie Nelson, Koe Wetzel, Shane Smith & The Saints and Wyatt Flores. His Australian debut represented the furthest he had travelled with his music at that point.
The CMC Rocks QLD performances gave Blankenship an opportunity to test his developing live show with an Australian country audience. The December headline dates will provide a different setting, with performances in three established theatre venues rather than a festival environment.
Blankenship is now working towards his first full-length album. The project follows the rapid expansion of his catalogue since Younger Years and will give him an opportunity to develop the songwriting and musical identity established through his early releases.
The Australian dates will come before the album has been formally announced, making the shows an early opportunity for local audiences to hear material from the next phase of his career.
The Frontier Touring dates begin at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Thursday, December 10, followed by Northcote Theatre in Melbourne on Saturday, December 12. The run concludes at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Sunday, December 13.
All three shows are licensed all ages.
