Bette Midler Nominated For Outer Critics Award For Hello Dolly

…and here we go. It’s New York theater awards season.

The nominations were released today for the Outer Circle Awards which covers shows both on and off-Broadway. They will soon be followed by the Drama Desk and Tony nominations.

Bette Midler has been nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her star turn in Hello, Dolly! which only officially opened on Sunday night. She’s up against Christy Altamore (Anastasia), Katrina Lenk (The Band’s Visit) and Christine Ebersole and Patti LuPone (both for War Paint).

The revival of Hello, Dolly! received ten nominations including Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Director of a Musical (Jerry Zaks) and Outstanding Actor in a Musical for David Hyde Pierce who is also up for Outstanding Actor in a Play for A Life.

The 2017 Outer Critics Circle Awards will be presented on Thursday, May 25.
