Blondie will release High Noon, their twelfth studio album and first collection of original material since 2017’s Pollinator, on February 26, 2027 through BMG. The 13-track record features contributions from Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon and members of Lucius, and stands as the final studio work completed with late drummer Clem Burke.
Blondie have confirmed High Noon, their twelfth studio album and the band’s first full collection of new material in nine years, for release on February 26, 2027 via BMG. The 13-track record arrives as the final studio work completed with co-founding drummer Clem Burke before his death in 2025.
The album continues the collaborative approach Blondie explored on 2017’s Pollinator. Rock and roll and punk sit alongside dance music and Latin rhythms, with outside writers and players woven through the sessions. Johnny Marr contributes guitar and backing vocals on the already-released lead track Spectral Eyes, which he also wrote.
]Former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock appears on the same song and supplies the punk-rooted Sleepwalking. Zach Condon of Beirut and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius also feature across the record.
Debbie Harry described the project in straightforward terms. “This album is classic Blondie – an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new. This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”
Chris Stein was more reflective. “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album. I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years.”
Producer John Congleton, who also helmed Pollinator, returned for the sessions. The record carries extra weight as the last studio album to include Clem Burke, who died in April 2025 at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer. Burke, Harry and Stein formed the original core of the band in New York in 1974. Their early run produced the run of albums that defined the group’s sound: Blondie, Plastic Letters, Parallel Lines, Eat to the Beat, Autoamerican and The Hunter. After a long break the band returned with No Exit in 1999, followed by The Curse of Blondie, Panic of Girls, Ghosts of Download and Pollinator.
High Noon draws on that history without simply repeating it. Heartbreak Kid, written by Chris Stein, carries the influence of the late Johnny Thunders and the band’s New York roots. Little Metal Drummer revisits a song first recorded by original keyboardist Jimmy Destri for his 1981 solo album Heart on a Wall; the original version already featured Debbie Harry and Clem Burke. The closing track, Ah, Sunflower, Weary of Time, takes its title from a William Blake poem.
Blondie remain one of the few groups from the mid-1970s New York scene still releasing new music. The Talking Heads, The Ramones, Television and Patti Smith’s early band all left their definitive statements decades ago. Blondie have continued, adapting their mix of punk energy, pop melody and rhythmic experimentation to each era. High Noon is the latest chapter in that ongoing process.
The album is scheduled for release on February 26, 2027. Spectral Eyes is already available as the first single.
