The first artists for the sister to the iconic Meredith festival, Golden Plains, was announced today – the massive double of Bon Iver and Roky Erickson.
Of course, Bon Iver leads the vanguard of indie folk with his brooding, pastoral tunes and the Meredith Amphitheatre is the perfect backdrop. He’ll perform an extended Sunset set with a nine-piece band.
As special as that may be, they’ve also added Godfather Of Psychedelic Rock, Mr. Roky Erickson. The 13th Floor Elevators founding member and frontman is sure to bend minds.
Golden Plains gets even better this year with the addition of Eric’s Terrace Wine Bar, serving local wines and produce, with a view of the stage.
The ballot is now open get tickets, so head over to the Golden Plains website before 10pm on Friday October 14 to apply.
Golden Plains takes place at the Meredith Natural Amphitheatre from March 10-12, 2012.
