Bruce Springsteen Says Morello Brings New Album In You Face

Bruce Springsteen has credited guitarist Tom Morello as the driving force that brings his new album ‘High Hopes’ “in your face”.

“A lot of music was reworked, through him in a certain way. Certainly the things that he is prominent on. It just brought everything up into your face in a nice way,” Bruce says in a new interview about the High Hopes album.

Bruce Springsteen’s album ‘High Hopes’ is a collection of song that didn’t fit on previous albums.

“‘Born In The USA was thrown off Nebraska,” Springsteen said of one of his most famous songs. “That gives you the parameters of when songs can make it or not make in a given moment”.

As one of rock’s most prolific artist, Bruce Springsteen records more than he can usually release on one album and that creates a backlog of unreleased material. ‘High Hopes’ will give fans the chance to hear some of the songs that got away. “I am always working on music,” he says. “We don’t cut en masse anymore and end up with 40 songs. We ended up with 15. So there were a small number that were that close to getting on the records that didn’t get on and they are a lot of the things I worked on for this particular album.

‘High Hopes’ will include a cover of Australia’s The Saint’s ‘Just Like Fire Would’, recorded in Sydney during Springsteen’s 2013 Australia tour.
