In 1991, Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson went to number 9 on the Hot 100 and 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart with her version of the title song from Disney’s animated Beauty and the Beast.

On March 17, Disney will release a brand new version of the movie, this time done with a combination of live actors (Emma Watson, Dan Stevens) and computer animated characters voiced by Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson and Audra McDonald. Plus, Celine Dion is back again for the soundtrack.

Earlier today (January 19), Dion went on Facebook to announce her involvement. “I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Being a part of the original film was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honoured to be a part of this film again. – Céline ?”

President of Music for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production, Mitchell Leib, approached the artist on behalf of the project with the idea of recording one of the three new songs written for the film. “Celine was the unanimous choice of the filmmakers and studio to perform this song,” says Leib, “And everyone involved with the film is thrilled she agreed to be part of this new live-action adaptation.”

How Does a Moment Last Forever was written by Alan Menken, who wrote the music for the original movie with the late Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice.

The soundtrack is set for a March 10 release; however, no track list has been announced.

Sammy Hagar has always had a reputation for surrounding himself with powerhouse players, but his upcoming live album, Sammy Hagar & The Best Of All Worlds Band – The Residency (out October 10, 2025 via Big Machine Rock), brings a distinctly Australian twist. On keyboards, vocals and guitar is Rai Thistlethwayte, best known at home for fronting Thirsty Merc and more recently as a member of The Fabulous Caprettos.
