In the late-‘90s the alternative scene was gripped by swing fever, with Brian Setzer, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Squirrel Nut Zippers and Cherry Poppin’ Daddies getting crowds dancing once more.

With the latest rockabilly revival and electro swing movement kicking along, it proves that quality dance tunes (and quiffs and bobby socks) will never die.

Cherry Poppin’ Daddies had a hiatus in the early 2000s but they returned in 2008 with Susquehanna and prepare to release their sixth album White Teeth, Black Thoughts later this year.

They sold out two shows in 2011 and they’re back again at the end of this year, playing Melbourne’s The Corner and Sydney’s Factory Theatre once more.

Tickets go on sale next Thursday 28 June from metropolistouring.com or the venues.

Cherry Poppin’ Daddies Tour 2012
Friday 1 November – Factory Theatre, Sydney
Monday 5 November – Coner Hotel, Melbourne
