Chris Brown Probation Revoked

Chris Brown is once again the trouble with the law. This time his probation has been revoked.

The 24-year-old singer was arrested in October for felony assault after allegedly punching a man in Washington, D.C., and the charge was later reduced to a misdemeanour.

According to TMZ this latest criminal offence could land Chris in jail, as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin repealed the star’s probation in court on Monday.

During the progress hearing Judge Brandlin said there could be enough evidence to prove Chris did not obey all laws during the alleged altercation.

Under the terms of his newly revoked probation stemming from his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, he must be law-abiding at all times.

Chris, who was in court, was not remanded into custody, with the judge acknowledging he was satisfied with the singer’s attempts to curb his behaviour by checking into rehab for anger management issues.

A progress report obtained by TMZ from Chris’ treatment programme indicates he participates in a weekly session and has completed a 12-hour boot camp course ‘to enhance team-building skills and trust’.

He was also ordered not to use medical marijuana until further notice, the outlet reports.

Clinicians have apparently taken him off cannabis and are medicating the star with ‘psychotropic drugs’, noting his ability to ’emotionally regulate himself’ has greatly improved.

Another hearing is scheduled for February 10, and it is then that the judge will determine whether Chris will be sent to jail.

The Associated Press reports Chris is still required to complete 1,000 hours of community labour for his 2009 assault conviction.
