Promoter Michael Chugg’s new music division Chugg Music has scored its first platinum success with Brisbane band Sheppard.

Chugg launched Sheppard at the Bigsound music conference in Brisbane in 2012. Sheppard then released the single ‘Let Them Down Easy’ and this week the song was certified platinum for 70,000 sales by ARIA.

Sheppard is Amy, George and Emma Sheppard with Jay Bavino, Michael Butler and Dean Gordon. “Having a platinum record with our very first release is like a dream come true,” said George, “We’ve not only had great support from radio, but it’s been amazing over the last few months taking our show to the fans and getting such a great reaction live. It’s been such a great ride, sometimes we need to remind ourselves that it’s real!”

Sheppard have showcased worldwide including the UK, USA, The Phillipines, South Africa, and India where they played the NH7 Weekend festival in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
