Dan Wilson has been one of the most successful songwriters of the 21st century. While you may not know his name, you will know his songs. On his new album ‘Re-covered’, he takes them back.
Wilson wrote or co-wrote songs for Adele (Someone Like You), Taylor Swift (Treacherous), Josh Groban (If I Walk Away), John Legend (You and I) and Dixie Chicks (Not Ready To Be Nice).
‘Re-covered’ is Dan reclaiming the songs for himself.
Dan Wilson first rose to prominence with his 90’s band Semisonic and their hit ‘Closing Time’. He has even redone that one.
For some strange reason Wilson crowd-funded ‘Re-covered’, a strange move indeed considering the millions he has made from these songs over the years. Adele alone must have set him up for a decade or two.
‘Re-covered’ is the third solo album for Wilson. It was released independently this week on Ballroom Music.
