Dave Dobbyn and Don McGlashan, two of New Zealand’s most respected and revered singer songwriters, will perform together for the first time in Australia for two shows later this month.

Dave Dobbyn was the frontman for DD Smash from 1980-1986 and had hits with ‘Devil You Know’ and ‘Whaling’ before going solo and delivering a number one hit in Australia and New Zealand with ‘Slice of Heaven’ from the ‘Footrot Flats’ soundtrack in 1986.

McGlashan fronted The Mutton Birds from 1991-2001. The band’s self-titled debut album in 1992 spent over a year on the New Zealand album chart. The 1996 album ‘Envy of Angels’ reached no. 64 in the UK.

Don’s two solo albums ‘Warm Hand’ (2006) and ‘Marvellous Year’ (2009) both made the New Zealand album chart. He has also guested on albums by Dobbyn, Tim Finn and Crowded House.

Dave Dobbyn and Don McGlashan dates are:

November 28, Melbourne, Thornbury Theatre, Thornbury
November 30, Sydney, The Basement
