Disturbed will return to Australia and New Zealand in April and May 2027 for their first headline tour of the region in more than a decade, performing their 2000 debut album The Sickness in its entirety before following it with a second set of greatest hits.

The seven-show arena tour will open at Spark Arena in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland on 22 April, before travelling to Christchurch, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth. The itinerary gives fans across both countries the opportunity to hear the album that established Disturbed as one of the defining American heavy metal bands of the early 2000s, followed by selections from the group’s subsequent catalogue.

Each concert will feature two distinct sets separated by an intermission. The first will reproduce The Sickness in full, while the second will draw from the band’s wider collection of hard rock and metal hits.

Released in March 2000, The Sickness became Disturbed’s commercial breakthrough, introducing audiences to the band’s combination of heavy guitar riffs, tightly controlled rhythms and David Draiman’s instantly recognisable vocal delivery. The album has been certified five-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and spent 106 weeks on the US Billboard 200.

Songs including Down With The Sickness, Stupify and Voices established the record as a major release in the turn-of-the-century American metal scene. More than 25 years later, Down With The Sickness remains a defining song in Disturbed’s live repertoire, with its distinctive vocal breakdown helping make it one of the band’s most recognisable recordings.

The album presentation will be followed by a separate set covering the band’s career beyond their debut. Disturbed subsequently released albums including Believe, Ten Thousand Fists, Indestructible, Asylum, Immortalized, Evolution and Divisive, building a catalogue that has maintained a strong presence on rock radio and in international touring.

The band’s 2015 cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s The Sound Of Silence introduced Disturbed to another audience beyond their established metal following. The recording became one of the group’s most successful releases, demonstrating a different dimension to Draiman’s voice while retaining the dramatic intensity associated with the band’s original material.

Disturbed’s commercial record includes five consecutive studio albums debuting at number one on the Billboard 200, beginning with Believe in 2002 and continuing through Immortalized in 2015. The group has also received two Grammy Award nominations and accumulated more than 17 million units in worldwide sales, according to the tour announcement.

The band most recently released the single I Will Not Break, which reached number one on the Mediabase Active Rock chart, according to the supplied tour information. Its continuing chart presence underlines the group’s ongoing activity beyond anniversary performances and catalogue retrospectives.

Formed in Chicago in 1994, Disturbed built their identity around Draiman’s vocals, Dan Donegan’s guitar work and Mike Wengren’s drumming. Bassist John Moyer joined the lineup in 2004. Together, the musicians developed a sound that combined the weight of heavy metal with the direct hooks and rhythmic precision of mainstream hard rock.

The 2027 Australian and New Zealand dates follow years of international touring and renewed attention to The Sickness. Presenting the debut album from beginning to end gives the tour a clear historical focus, while the second set acknowledges the subsequent releases that expanded the band’s audience and sustained its arena status.

The tour also marks a significant return to headline arena shows after an extended absence from the region. Auckland and Christchurch will host the opening two concerts before the Australian leg begins in Brisbane on 28 April. The tour concludes at RAC Arena in Perth on 9 May.

The tour’s two-set format places The Sickness at the centre of each performance while allowing room for the later songs that have become part of Disturbed’s wider live identity. Across seven arenas, the band will revisit the album that launched its career and trace the musical journey that followed.
