Gil Matthews Is Working On A Go Records Box Set

Gil Matthews, the former Aztecs drummer and founder of Aztec Records, is working on a box set of the complete A and B sides of all Go!! Records singles.

Go!! Records was an independent pop record label in Melbourne, Australia in the 60s. The label was around from 1964-1968. In that time Go!! Records released 54 singles.

Go!! Records acts include M.P.D. Ltd, Bobbie & Laurie and The Strangers. Bobbie Bright of Bobbie & Laurie is still active and recording today, The M in M.P.D. Ltd is media personality and ad man Mike Brady, The Strangers was the early band for John Farrar who would go on to become one of the most successful songwriters in the world writing hits for Tina Turner and Olivia Newton-John.

Gil Matthews is currently remastering the four CD Go!! Records box and has finished the first 34 tracks from the first 17 singles.

In total there will be 128 songs in the collection. It will be the first time the entire history of Go!! Records will be available in one package.

Expect it to be ready when its ready.
