Jen Cloher has debuted the video for her new song ‘Strong Women’, made on a day off recently in London.

About the song Jen says, “It recently occurred to me that I have always been a leader, a strong woman. It’s not a quality that was cultivated but something I inherited. My matriarchal line is Ngapuhi, a Maori tribe from the Far North of New Zealand. There’s a famous Maori saying, ‘Kia kaha’ which means ‘Stay strong’, my Mother Dorothy modelled that quality to me growing up and I’m forever grateful that she did.

The songs were recorded between Gippsland, Victoria and Jeff Tweddy’s Loft Studio in Chicago. Courtney Barnett plays lead guitar with the rhythm section of Bones Sloane and Jen Sholakis.
