At one time John Farnham and Daryl Braithwaite were King of Pop rivals in Australia. In December they will team for a double header … but only for Wollongong.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Wollongong this December with my good mate Daryl Braithwaite,” John Farnham said in a statement.

John and Daryl are superstars in the Illawarra. “The crowds have always been fantastic in the Illawarra and this will be a night to remember”, Farnham promises.

John Farnham has had 33 top 40 hits in Australia but if you add the two top 40 hits he had in his short stint as Little River Band singer, you can add two more and bring his total to 35. Daryl had 19 top hits with his band Sherbet and 15 as a solo artist tallying 34.

That is a remarkable 69 Top 40 hits between them.

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
